<</nobr>>well, my character, izzy, finally dropped the wild magic effect that forced her to speak in rhyme, so I was happy to stop that. so we're back on a boat, heading to the other continent, and we hear someone calling for help in the fog. we rush out to check if it was a pair of NPCs that we lost on the sea a good number of sessions ago, but it was sirens, of course.
they would've been easy, if two of our players refused to take off their heavy armor while on the boat, and if one of the sirens didn't polymorph into a whale while on top of a different player and nearly drowned her. we got out of that, somehow.
a few days after that event, we stopped on a tiny supply port island and got the two new armor, because they lost theirs trying to not drown themselves. we also dug around in a small patch of wood behind the shops, and found an ancient dwarven shrine hidden by vines.
in our DM's world, the dwarven gods faded away a long time ago, as the dwarves were able to use the gifts they gave and advanced to a point where they didn't need the gods anymore. it was presented as bittersweet at worst. izzy protested to uncovering the shrine, but another character (and the DM's main NPC that is helping us helped her) decided to go ahead anyway. so of course izzy tried to cover it back up as best she could once everyone else left.

<</nobr>>oh, I've gotten some interesting stuff done there!
I have a good amount of trees I'm growing now, and those first two trees grew so fast that I've already chopped them down and used their seeds to make a second generation.
I made an alt character for the purpose of mining and hunting, stuff that involves strength and agility stats, something I won't be building on with my main very much.
Someone very advanced on a knarr came as I was putting together that alt, and asked if they could do some botting on the island above me. I agreed as long as they let me continue to forage on the larger island, and they wished me a good day, and if I needed anything just let them know. they also left me a swan they caught because it was too low quality for them (I think it was q53, lol).
there was a long server crash last night, which didn't get repaired because it was like 3a in sweden at the time. so I didn't get to play again until morning, but everything was fine after that. check out me and this lizard dancing

it's just tiring, mostly. I like being in classes but I don't like doing any of the classwork.

<</nobr>>oh, something I actually did today! I finally adjusted the partition size for the linux mint side of my dual boot.
the windows 10 partition had a lot of free space, but the built in windows tool wasn't as powerful as I needed it to be to move the linux partitions over to the side and expand them like I needed.
I installed a dedicated live usb of gparted to do what I needed to. nothing exploded! now I have an extra 10gb in the root folder, expanded my swap to 8gb (now actually the size of my laptop's RAM), and expanded the home folder to 10gb. and I have some extra unallocated space I can add to both as I see fit in the future.
as the instructions online read, I loaded a different live usb to get to the terminal and make sure the boot grub found everything it needed to. it didn't entirely work, as it didn't load the actual grub screen on startup (it just went straight to the linux mint login), but just updating grub from there added back. nothing exploded!
<<linkreplace "that sure was a lot of words I might or might not know">>yeah, that's fair, but I figured this section was long enough without making a bunch of branchoff pages explaining every word. I'm sorry. the short of it is, nothing exploded and I have more space on linux now.
