<</nobr>>oh, well. I still like writing about things, sometimes. I just. crashed this week, I guess.

<</nobr>>it's my spring break this week, and I've just been stuck inside the house most of the time. I've been out to visit family, I guess, but not for much else. there isn't much left for me at home anymore. it's sapped me in a way that I don't know how to describe, including figuring out what to write for these, or motivating myself for these at all.
[[oh...]]<<nobr>>
<<set $mi = "06">>
<div class="clock"><<print $hr>>:<<print $mi>><<print $ap>></div>
<</nobr>>anyways, I learned that neither twine (1.x) nor bitsy stores their in-game variables as javascript variables in any way. while I guess I can understand why, so it's all contained and can't be tampered with, it really crushed me at the beginning of this week, when I wanted to try and make something that could communicate variables between each other.
I'm sure there are a few people out there who have done it already, and I can probably pretty easily shove a bitsy game into a twine passage without any interaction between the two, but the specific thing I wanted to happen was not immediately understandable to me, and I've been sort of down about it since.
[[I'm sorry to hear that]]<<nobr>>

<</nobr>>well, first, it was st patrick's day, so we visited my dad's mom. it was nice enough. I was able to look through her cookbook collection, including one that was from 1950. she said she might give it to me for christmas or some other time.

<</nobr>>oh, well. fair enough.
<<include "splat">>anyways. I bought a different switch game a few days later.
[[what game?]]<<nobr>>
<<set $mi = "20">>
<div class="clock"><<print $hr>>:<<print $mi>><<print $ap>></div>
<</nobr>>...calling it a switch game is being generous. I bought another wii game that I've already played that's now ported to the switch with a few added extras. it's chocobo's mystery dungeon EVERY BUDDY, which means they added a two player mode and a few extra dungeons for the memories of some characters from other final fantasy fables games that I didn't play.
it's funny to see the added graphics and models next to the unimproved wii ones, like comparing the plain-ass texture they use for dungeon hero x's big X, where you can see all the pixels, vs some onomatopeia they added for one of those other-game characters falling down having fully-high-quality-modeled letters and physics.
I get that none of that may make sense, but like. you can just tell what they added now vs what was in the wii game.
[[...okay]]<<nobr>>
<<set $mi = "24">>
<div class="clock"><<print $hr>>:<<print $mi>><<print $ap>></div>
<</nobr>>I mean, obviously, I still like it, I bought the game again for fuck's sake. it's just funny to see.
it's a fun game! if it goes on sale it's worth the buy, especially if you liked pokemon mystery dungeon, or if you don't mind a children's roguelike. the story is a little obvious looking at it now, though, so take that as you will.
[[sure thing]]<<nobr>>

<div class="clock"><<print $hr>>:<<print $mi>><<print $ap>></div>
<</nobr>>speaking of games, in haven and hearth, I've had some new-ish neighbors on the island above me for a while now, right? that sailed in from one of the bustling continents for a quiet life?
so, the one I haven't met yet came by the other day, shocked I was still active despite being stuck on this island. we conversed, traded discord numbers (as well as the number of the first person I met on my alt), and they gave me a baby horse!
[[oh! nice!]]<<nobr>>
<<set $mi = "29">>
<div class="clock"><<print $hr>>:<<print $mi>><<print $ap>></div>
<</nobr>>yeah! until we both realized the babies need to be fed by their mothers until they grow into their adult stages, lol. But they had another horse that just recently grew into an adult, and so we swapped horses. so good thing it worked out! and now I have a horse!
[[yay!!]]<<nobr>>
<<set $mi = "31">>
<div class="clock"><<print $hr>>:<<print $mi>><<print $ap>></div>
<</nobr>>a horse and some decent neighbors in haven and hearth, I never thought I'd get that kind of success. the game's an absolute shithole when it comes to literally anyone else who plays the game, including the devs. but I just enjoy the game itself too much...
so. onwards from games. I went to a new dentist yesterday.
[[how'd that go?]]<<nobr>>
<<set $mi = "32">>
<div class="clock"><<print $hr>>:<<print $mi>><<print $ap>></div>
<</nobr>>better than expected, honestly. he's my mom's dentist, something happened where the pediatric dentist me and my brother were seeing were dropped from our insurance or something. but I guess I needed to move on to an adult's dentist anyway.
he was nice enough for the checkup, and funny to talk to. he's apparently learning to fly planes too. seems like a lot to keep track of for me.
and despite me having been treating my teeth abysmally for the past year+ since my last checkup, I have no cavities!
[[whoo!]]<<nobr>>

<div class="clock"><<print $hr>>:<<print $mi>><<print $ap>></div>
<</nobr>>and now pretty much you're caught up, I suppose. I drove a tiny bit today, and cleaned off my bookshelf which was dusty as shit, but didn't get much else done.
[[do you think you'll be another week before you write again?]]<<nobr>>
<<set $mi = "36">>
<div class="clock"><<print $hr>>:<<print $mi>><<print $ap>></div>
<</nobr>>hopefully not, but I guess I shouldn't say shit, huh?
maybe tomorrow I'll actually get out of my rut enough to do something creative-wise. maybe I could actually put that clippy onto the neocities site. or take baby steps towards the combination twine and bitsy.
[[maybe!]]<<nobr>>
